Practice Partners Michael Fitzgerald and Helen Walsh have over 20 years combined experience in the field of Hand & Upper Limb Therapy. Both are Full Members of the Australian Hand Therapy Association.

Michael

Michael Fitzgerald graduated with an Occupational therapy Degree from Curtin University, Western Australia and is a full member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association. He has been specialising in Hand Therapy for over 10 years, and in this time has managed two busy private practices before opening InHand Occupational Therapy. His special interests include splinting and injuries of the wrist and elbow. He has also refined his paediatric skills through his work at Princess Margaret Hospital. He has a strong interest in training students and new therapists, co-writing the Edith Cowan University Occupational Therapy curriculum for hand therapy,and guest lecturing at Curtin University.

Helen

Senior Clinician

Helen Walsh graduated with an Occupational Therapy Degree from Curtin University, is a full member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA), and is currently on the AHTA Management Committee, holding the National Membership Portfolio. She has been working in Hand Therapy for over 9 years, specialising in Burns and Plastics, Rheumatology and Spinal Injuries. She has worked as a senior therapist in many public hospitals both in Perth and overseas. She has a strong interest in Splinting and tendon rehabilitation and is currently completing research on conservative management of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome within her work at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

Jane

Jane Rose graduated with an Occupational Therapy Degree from Curtin University and is an Associate Member with the Australian Hand Therapy Association. She has a keen interest and passion for rehabilitation of hand and upper limb injuries and has been working in the area for the last 3 years. Jane’s clinical experience incorporates inpatient aged care rehabilitation, orthopaedic and surgical caseloads. In addition to this, Jane’s background includes vocational rehabilitation services as an Injury Management Consultant.

Nikki

Senior Clinician

BSc.(Occupational Therapy). Associate Member Australian Hand Therapy Association

Nikki Gow graduated from Curtin University, School of Occupational Therapy in 1997. Over the last 12 years she has gained extensive experience in rehabilitation of the hand and upper limb. Nikki has worked in hospitals within WA and throughout the United Kingdom and has recently co-written and delivered the hand therapy curriculum at Edith Cowan University. Nikki’s focus is on acute hand trauma although she also brings with her experience in the treatment of lymphoedema and specialist scar management
