Payment, Rebates and Claims
InHand Occupational Therapy operates as a Private Practice and charges are incurred for services provided.
Workers Compensation / Motor Vehicle Insurance Trust (MVIT)
You will need a written referral from a Doctor if you are claiming through a compensable body such as Workcover, MVIT or DVA. Consultation and splint fees can be billed directly to the insurer. No cost is incurred by the patient.
Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA)
InHand Occupational Therapists are registered DVA providers. No cost is incurred by the patient.
Private Patients
Private patients may receive a rebate for consultations and splints from their private health fund if cover includes ancillary services for OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY. Contact your private health insurance fund for confirmation of rebates. The clinic is equipped to process private health fund rebates for consultations, as well as EFTPOS and credit card facilities for easy payment. Private patients will be required to pay your account balance in full on the day of treatment. Both your invoice and payment receipt can then be presented to your private health fund for rebates on splints.
Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM)
Under the Chronic Disease Management Plan, a referral can be made for patients with chronic or longstanding conditions. These patients may be eligible for 5 consultations through Medicare. A CDM plan must be completed by the referring GP. These referrals are only appropriate in certain circumstances.
CDM patients may be eligible for a discounted rate and Medicare will refund an amount after a claim has been made. For more details on fees and out of pocket expenses please contact admin.
Referrals
Our referrals come from Surgeons, GPs, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and other Allied Health Professionals, however you do not specifically require a referral to be seen by us. Referrals are accepted via phone, fax , letter or e-referral. Please feel free to phone any time if you wish to discuss particular information regarding a referral. One of our therapists will always be happy to talk to the referring party. Inhand Occupational Therapy is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
To help us provide the best possible service we recommend new clients bring all relevant x-ray, test and investigation results and your doctor’s referral (if you have one) to your first appointment.
